Rose & the Amateurs are Rose Throop (vocals, harmonica), Ron Throop (vocals, guitar) and Michael Flanagan (vocals, guitar and various instruments).
Formed in 2020, the group grew out of informal, dining room music and drinking sessions over the last several years. The word "amateur" is derived from the French word for love. Rose & the Amateurs share a musical love of lasting and meaningful (mostly) American artists interpreted in their own style. Their songs come from a variety of musicians especially those of the singer-songwriter tradition such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young.
